Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - CPR

Steps to CPR:
  1. Check the scene and make sure the scene is safe
  2. "Hey, hey, are you okay?" - make sure the person is in need of help
  3. Tell someone to call 911 and, if more than one person is available, tell another person to get an AED
  4. Head tilt, chin lift - Tilt the head back by pushing down on the forehead and lifting up on the chin
  5. Check for breathing by putting you ear near their mouth and looking at their chest for it to rise
  6. Give the person two rescue breaths - the breaths should last about 1 second
  7. Check for pulse on the carotid artery
  8. Give 30 chest compressions - should be somewhat fast, to the beat of "Staying Alive" by The Beegees
  9. Give two more rescue breaths
  10. Give 30 chest compressions
  11. Give two more rescue breaths
  12. Give 30 chest compressions
  13. Give two rescue breaths
  14. Give 30 chest compressions
  15. Give two rescue breaths
  16. Give 30 chest compressions

Repeat steps until the person in responsive, they have a pulse and are breathing, you get so exhausted that you can no longer proceed, or an AED or ambulance gets there. If any of these happens in the middle of CPR, stop performing CPR.
